Easy Saint Costume Ideas

If you are looking for a quick saint costume for your children, you are in the right place!  I’m here to give you lots of ideas, including where to get costumes and what to add to it!  Here are our favorite Saint Books for Kids if you are interested in sharing the faith in a fun way!

A priest costume has lots of great opportunities for saints. Here are some ideas for your son:

St. Philip NeriIn pictures he is usually in a Red Stole while holding White lily flowers 

St. John Bosco – in pictures he is in a black Priest robe wearing a black priest hat

More Priest Saints are- St John Vianney, St. Jose Maria, St. Martin de Porres, St. Vincent de Paul

Here are some great Saint’s that were girl royalty!

St Elizabeth of Hungryin images you see her wearing a red princess dress, white head veil, a crown and white apron with roses glued on to the apron. 

More Princes and queen saint – St Adelaide, St Margaret, St. Dymphia, St. Helena

So many great saints were monks and other men in brown robes.

Saint Francis Assisi wear a Brown Monk Robe and a stuffed bird on your shoulders.

Saint Padre Pio a brown Robe and red paint on the hands for the stigmata. 

St. Anthony, St Benedict of Nursia, St. Rocco

So Many Nuns are Saints here are a couple ideas.

St Rose of Lima- Usually she will have a simple black and white outfit with a rose Crown. 

St Rita– Some ideas wear a habbit, hold a crusifix, Crown of thorns. 

St Theresa of Lisieux – wear a nun costume while holding Roses. 

Mother Theresa Wear her Special Habit 

St Faustina – you could carry the Divine Mercy of Jesus image

St Margaret Mary– 

Saint Nicholas – Red Bishop robe and hat with gold coins.

Saint Patrick – Green Bishop Robe and Walking staff

Saint Augustine of Hippo – Red Bishop Robe and paper and pen (he was a doctor of the church) 

Some saints were even doctors!  

St. Gianna Beretta Molla  – dress, doctor coat, stethoscope, and baby

Here is a fun costume for boys!  Being a king or knight is so much fun!  My son Zachary wanted to be King Louis, and so we got him this outfit. It was great!

St. Louis King of France, St. Stephen, St. Edward the Confessor

St Lucy  white night gown or dress (which stands for her purity) Red sash or ribbon to tie around her waist and a crown of greenery  or this crown around the head this is where you can get one.  And this book we love to read on her feast day it is very informative but in a story form.

Mother Mary!  Yes, even Mary is a saint! In fact, she is the highest saint!  She is beautiful inside and out!  Above are so many cute options!

Bella wanted to be Our Lady of Guadalupe. We used a red dress from a thrift shop and this veil. Or you could get the full dress HERE.  Zachary  wanted to be  St Louis King of France.

Bella wanted to be St Therese (costume was from a friend), and Maria wanted to be Mother Mary.

(above) Bella dresses up like St Lucy for St Lucia’s feast day.  We got a white night gown, red ribbon, and my mom made this headpiece for her.

(below) Maria loved dressing up like St Elizabeth of Hungry with a princess dress, Apron, Crown and head piece. 

(below) Here was a family All Saint’s Day Party that my family had. Jacob was Saint Philip Neri, Bella was Mother Mary, Thomas was St Michael the Arch Angel, and Zachary was Pope John Paul II.

Zachary will be St Micheal the Arch Angel this and as you can see he is very exited about it!
