Lay crescent dough sheet flat. Place a large bowl, open side down, over dough.
Cut around the edges of bowl, setting excess dough aside.
Make two more circles with dough, repeating steps above.
Spread butter on first layer of dough, then spread Nutella over butter.
Lay next layer of dough on top, and spread butter and Nutella over dough. Repeat until you have 3-4 layers of dough with butter and Nutella in between.
Place a small round cup in center of dough. Cutting around the circle, cut dough into 4 triangles.
Cut each triangle into 3 small triangles, for a total of 12 triangles.
Remove cup. Taking two triangles at a time, twist dough outward & pinch ends together. Continue until star is complete.
Brush butter over top, and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
If desired, sprinkle powdered sugar on top after baking. Enjoy!
